We are so delighted that the Cohousing conference is coming to Durham May 29-31! If you have not signed up for the tour of communities, you can always come to the open tour at Elderberry on Sunday May 31 from 1-5 pm. And if you miss that, just let us know when you would like to visit!
We finally got our first Elderberry T-shirts made and can't wait to see them! We have many committees working hard to keep things rolling.... the workshops committee is planning for barn renovations to workshops and one of our members is getting started soon on a metal-working shop. We're also getting a committee started to begin having regular group meals (we currently have potlucks on meetings and workdays). Slowly but surely things are coming together!

So Much Happening!!
Some of my fellow community members recently noted that when our blog doesn't get updated it looks like nothing is happening - which is so far from the truth! It's just that we're all so busy building the community that we forget to do the blog!
We now have 4 homes occupied, 4 under construction and 8 nearing construction. The final two will be started by year end. Of the homes we are building we have 3 that will be available to new members - two 1200ft2 homes and one 1000ft2 home.
May 29-31 is the National Co-housing conference in Durham! We are so thrilled to have the national conference here. We will be hosting a tour of 50 people on May 29th and we will be around for anyone who wants to show up for a tour on Sunday May 31st from 1-5pm.
We had a great party to christen our common house - which we share with our sister community Potluck Farm. We are still working to get everything in the common house set up, but we have had a few parties, group meals, music nights, movie nights and morning coffees together. It's a very lovely space!
And I should mention that at Potluck Farm we currently have a tiny house for sale. It's a Tumbleweed design, 450ft2. The owner is moving from Potluck to Elderberry (he wants to downsize from his 450 ft2 house..... seriously!) Contact us if interested in learning more.
If you're reading this and interested in Co-housing, hope you can come to the conference! Or just call us anytime for a personal tour.
I'll update this again soon! (really!)
