Springtime Fun!

Spring is in full bloom here at Elderberry and we're making the most of it.  On Sunday we had our annual Weenie Roast at the Love Shack (a little one-room shack nestled back on 100 acres of gorgeous woods that we share with the Potluck Farm community).  At this event we roast weenies of all sorts (beef, turkey, vegan) and make S'mores, and for those who are healthier eaters there are a lot of other good foods to choose from!  The rain held off for us and we had a lovely time with members, grandkids and neighbors.

Getting the table set up with food!  Nancy (front left) and Dick are the brainchildren for this event and they supply the dogs, buns, condiments and paper goods.  Everyone else brings the rest of the food.

You can see the little Love Shack in the background - great place for a private retreat

Lovely crowd!

The kids have a blast doing the dogs over the fire

Meg had an interesting idea.........

Dogs all over the place

When the kids finished roasting dogs at the fire and the adults took over

Miles does not like roasted marshmallows.........can you tell?

Chuck and Richard just hangin'

Ross helping Anne with the mustard - a two person job!

Joyce (pictured) and Diana took on Mary and Dave in the first corn hole match.  Mary had an injured right elbow and Dave had an injured right shoulder so they both played left-handed (and didn't do too badly!)

Dave showing his left-handed technique (he had a couple of behind-the-back shots as well)

Evey got one in the hole!

Mike, David, Diana, Evey and Miles - I don't know who's team was playing who here!

Mary and Riley helped get people to and from the event in Zeke (our 4-wheeler)
Several people helped with the cleanup, and just about the time we finished,
Mary, Ross and Lucy were treated to a lovely sunset.

Just a few photos of spring here - the redbuds at Cecil and Vonda's Potluck Farm house

Apple blossoms!

Everyone loves the redbuds, they are even prettier up close!
